Spring Cleaning for Your Health
This week: Why you're exhausted
Exhaustion has become so common that most people assume it's normal. It isn't.
If you wake up tired, drag yourself through the day on caffeine, crash at night but still can't sleep deeply — your body is not broken. It is communicating. And what it's saying is that something is out of balance.
Modern life asks us to run on empty indefinitely. But the human body was designed to work in rhythm — periods of activity followed by genuine rest, stress followed by recovery, output followed by replenishment. When that rhythm gets disrupted long enough, the whole system starts to strain.
What exhaustion actually looks like in the body:
Adrenal fatigue from chronic stress
Nutritional deficiencies — especially magnesium, B vitamins, and iron
Poor sleep quality from nervous system dysregulation
Emotional weight carried physically in the body
Gut imbalances affecting energy and mood
One thing you can do today:
Before reaching for your phone in the morning, take 5 slow deep breaths. Inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4, exhale for 6. This simple practice begins regulating your nervous system from the moment you wake — setting a calmer tone for your entire day.
This week's natural remedy:
Cayenne, Lemon & Honey Tea
For: Exhaustion & Low Energy
Add a pinch of cayenne pepper and the juice of half a lemon to hot (not boiling) water. Stir in one teaspoon of raw honey. Drink one cup mid-morning on an empty stomach or between meals.
Cayenne pepper Stimulates circulation, activates metabolism, and delivers a natural energy surge by triggering the release of endorphins
Lemon Rich in vitamin C, supports adrenal function, alkalizes the body, and helps flush toxins that contribute to fatigue
Raw honey Provides slow-releasing natural sugars for sustained energy, plus enzymes and antioxidants that support immune and cellular function
These three ingredients have been used across traditional medicine systems for centuries to ignite vitality, warm the body from within, and restore natural, sustainable energy.
"The body is not a machine that breaks down. It is a living system that is always trying to heal — it simply needs the right conditions to do so."
Listening to your mind/body:
Beneath that exhaustion is a body that has been giving everything and receiving very little in return.
Holistic health addresses exhaustion at every level — physically, nutritionally, emotionally, and spiritually. Because real restoration isn't just about sleep. It's about coming back into balance with all of who you are.
This month I'm offering a free 30 minute consultation to discover what your body needs.

MIND/BODY/FOOD
Swap Heavy for Hydrating

Winter calls us toward warming, dense foods — stews, root vegetables, heavier proteins.
Spring asks us to reciprocate nature's lightness. Begin replacing one heavy meal per day with something hydrating and mineral-rich: cucumber-herb soups, lightly steamed asparagus with lemon zest, or a smoothie built around celery, mint, and pear.
These water-dense foods support lymphatic flow, kidney filtration, and skin luminosity. Pay attention to how your energy shifts — most people notice a lightness in both body and mood within a week.
Lighten up with Bitter Greens

As nature shifts from the heaviness of winter, so should your plate.
Spring is the ideal season to introduce bitter greens — arugula, dandelion, radicchio, and watercress — into your daily meals.
In both Ayurvedic and traditional Western herbalism, bitter foods stimulate the liver and gallbladder, encouraging bile production and the gentle release of winter's accumulated sluggishness.
Try starting lunch with a small bitter salad dressed in lemon and olive oil before your main course.
This simple habit primes digestion and begins the body's natural spring cleanse from the inside out.
Workout
Pose 1 — Supported Child's Pose (Balasana) Hold 3–5 minutes
Place a bolster lengthwise on your mat. Kneel behind it, big toes touching, knees wide. Fold forward and drape your torso over the bolster, turning one cheek to rest. Arms extend forward or fold alongside. Feel the hips release. After 2–3 minutes, turn your head to the other side. This pose opens the sacrum and lower back while quieting the nervous system — a beautiful beginning.

Healthy Recipe

Spring Green Cleanse Broth
A warming, mineral-rich broth to gently support the liver, lymph, and digestive fire as the season shifts. Sip as a morning tonic or light lunch.
Servings
2
Ingredients
4 cups filtered water
3 celery stalks, roughly chopped
1 cups dandelion greens (or kale)
1 tablespoons fresh ginger, sliced
2 garlic cloves, smashed
1 tablespoons fresh turmeric root, sliced (or 1/2 tsp dried)
1 lemon, juiced
0.5 cups fresh parsley, packed
1 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (raw, unfiltered)
0.5 teaspoons sea salt
1 pinch black pepper
Steps
1
Combine base ingredients: Add 4 cups filtered water to a medium pot along with 3 celery stalks, roughly chopped, 1 tablespoons fresh ginger, sliced, 2 garlic cloves, smashed, and 1 tablespoons fresh turmeric root, sliced (or 1/2 tsp dried). Bring to a gentle boil.
2
Simmer: Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes 20:00 to let the roots and aromatics release their compounds.
3
Add greens: Stir in 1 cups dandelion greens (or kale) and 0.5 cups fresh parsley, packed. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes 05:00.
4
Finish and strain: Remove from heat. Stir in 1 lemon, juiced, 1 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (raw, unfiltered), 0.5 teaspoons sea salt, and 1 pinch black pepper. Strain through a fine mesh sieve, pressing greens to extract all liquid.
5
Serve: Pour into a mug or bowl. Sip slowly and mindfully — ideally in the morning on an empty stomach or between meals.
Notes
Enhance your cleanse: Add a few sprigs of fresh cilantro (a natural heavy metal binder) or a strip of kombu seaweed (for iodine and minerals). This broth freezes beautifully — make a double batch and store in portions. For a deeper liver cleanse, drink daily for 5–7 days alongside your spring eating protocol.
In Case You Missed It -June’s bodywork spotlight
Lymphatic drainage massage gently targets the lymphatic system just beneath the skin — a vast network of vessels, nodes, and tissues responsible for moving fluid, filtering waste, and supporting your entire immune system. Unlike the cardiovascular system, which has the heart to pump it, the lymphatic system relies on muscle movement, breathing, and external stimulation to stay active. When life gets sedentary, stressful, or inflamed, this system slows — and you feel it.
What people feel and see:
Lymphatic massage uses light, rhythmic movements to manually pump the system, helping fluids move more efficiently — reducing swelling and bloating, detoxifying the body, and restoring a sense of lightness that many people haven't felt in years.
Benefits include immune system support, reduced fluid retention, relief from neuropathy, stress management, and visibly glowing skin. Many clients also notice:
Cellulite reduction — lymphatic drainage may reduce the appearance of cellulite by enhancing lymphatic circulation and skin elasticity, helping remove excess fluids and toxins that contribute to the skin's dimpled appearance.
Weight loss support — by stimulating a system that plays a role in metabolism and eliminating excess fluid, lymphatic massage can create a more efficient environment for weight loss, supporting your overall health and fitness goals.
Faster recovery — it helps remove lactic acid and cellular waste, speeding up healing and muscle repair after exercise or injury.
Skin that glows — increased circulation supports cellular repair and gives the complexion a refreshed, lifted appearance.
Post-surgical healing — lymphatic massage is particularly beneficial after cosmetic or other surgical procedures, helping reduce swelling, ease discomfort, and promote faster, smoother recovery.

True wellbeing isn't built in a season — it's woven into the quiet, consistent choices you make every day. These practices are an invitation to come back to your centered space within.
🙂 May your Spring and Summer be filled with blessings and miracles!
